Primary Level English Programme
English as an additional language for young learners with developing English skills
All four strands of learning will be covered; speaking, listening, reading and writing. A different theme will be introduced every week. Useful phrases and developing vocabulary as well as simple grammar structures will feature as part of this programme.
In the Primary programme students will build on their existing knowledge of the English language.
The course will:
- develop a student’s vocabulary from their existing word bank of around 300 words up to 500 words
- develop description of actions in the present, leading on to descriptions and actions that have taken place in the past
- develop their use of personal and family information
- help them to describe day to day events
- enable students to communicate when an action has taken place and how often
- enable students to form more complex questions and be able to answer questions with negatives, structuring the answer correctly.
