The battle against COVID-19

The Battle Against COVID-19

In the UK, it seems that confusion reigns in the battle against Covid-19 and, without clear guidance from the authorities, the public are having to make decisions for themselves on their safety, regardless of legislation. At one end of the spectrum are the reckless who flout social distancing laws, believing themselves to be immune, at the other end are those who aren’t convinced it’s safe to follow the government’s sometimes contradictory and often confusing advice and step back out into the world.

A survey this week by the organisation https://www.childcare.co.uk/ which has over two million members, found that over a quarter of parents don’t plan to send their children back to school in September, despite facing fines and potentially prison for refusing to do so. A third of those will wait a year to ensure the safety of their children whilst 10% of them will use online learning or home schooling until they reach school leaving age.

Whilst it’s been proven that online education has great advantages for a majority of children, education is too important to allow only adequate standards of online learning and online schools must continually review their delivery, using the most up to date technological tools to make the experience as close as that gained in the physical classroom.

The best online schools will have evolved from a physical school where the experiences gained by their management can be used to ensure the online education experience incorporates all the benefits that a physical school can provide and enhance them to ensure that online learning is comprehensive, rigorous and effective.

TLC School Online has that foundation of ten years of providing excellent education to students from thirty different nationalities through TLC Private School, teaching the English National Curriculum to hundreds of students.
